High availability WordPress: what it takes to keep a site up
Most high availability WordPress offers are really fast recovery. What true redundancy takes, the four pieces that matter, and the questions to ask a host.
Before you ask
Common questions
How much does a project cost?
Delivery work is quoted at a fixed price against a written scope, so the number does not move once you have agreed it. Hourly work is $275 CAD an hour with a twenty hour minimum.
Do you work outside Niagara?
Yes. The town pages exist because local searches are how people here find a developer, but most engagements run remotely and always have. Publishers, colleges, and manufacturers have hired me from across Canada and the United States.
How long does a website take?
A small business site is usually four to six weeks from signed scope to launch. What moves that date is almost never the build. It is waiting on copy, photography, and the one approval nobody scheduled.
Which of these do I actually need?
If you are not sure, that is what the twenty minute call is for. Bring the problem rather than a specification, and I will tell you honestly if it is smaller than you think, or if it is not my lane at all.
Not sure which of these fits your situation?
Every engagement starts with a conversation, not a contract. Tell me what you are dealing with and I will point you to the right starting place, even if that turns out not to be me.
