The newsletter
A weekly, honest read on learning and working with artificial intelligence (AI), for people who want to keep the human in it.
Every Thursday I take the week’s real signal, the releases and articles worth your attention and the ones that are not, and think out loud about what they mean for how we work and learn. Thirty years building software, a few of them spent studying how people actually learn, and no certainty for sale. If your feed is all hype and doom, this is the slower, clearer version.
What each edition is
Not a neutral list of links. Each week I pick the one thing that actually mattered, take a clear position on it, and show you the reading behind that position. You get a point of view you can argue with, plus the sources to check it yourself. The goal is that you close the email knowing something you can use on Monday, not just a longer to-read pile.
Some weeks that is a new model or tool and whether it earns the attention it is getting. Other weeks it is a quieter shift in how classrooms, newsrooms, and teams are actually using this stuff, the kind of thing the launch-day coverage misses. Either way you get the same two filters run over it: is it real, and does it keep a person in charge of the decision.
Who writes it
I am Christopher Ross. I have been building for the web since 1996 and studying how people learn since well before that was an AI question. I am a candidate for a master’s in learning and technology, a WordCamp US speaker, and I have no product to sell you inside these editions. The whole point is to keep a human in the loop of a conversation that keeps trying to remove one.
Prefer it in your inbox?
The newsletter goes out on LinkedIn every Thursday. If you’d rather read it by email, leave your address and I’ll send each edition to your inbox too. No spam, and you can unsubscribe any time.
Read it on LinkedIn
The newsletter goes out every Thursday on LinkedIn, where it is free to read and free to share. Subscribe once and each new edition arrives the day it lands, no inbox clutter and no cost.
The newsletter is the weekly front porch for a longer project, Learning to Learn With AI. Same idea, more room to think.
