VideoPress

VideoPress is Automattic's video hosting service, built into WordPress.com plans and available on self-hosted sites through the Jetpack plugin. Uploads live on Automattic's infrastructure, get transcoded to multiple resolutions for adaptive streaming, and are served over a global CDN. For a self-hosted site already running Jetpack, it makes video almost effortless: uploading a video works just like adding an image to the media library, with no separate account or API key. The player is clean and ad-free, but compared with a standalone platform like Vimeo it offers less player customization and no per-viewer analytics, so it suits sites already in the Jetpack ecosystem that just want simple, low-friction hosting.
