Most local builds start at $2,500 CAD and the common engagement runs higher, depending on how many pages and how much copy you need. You get a real number after a twenty-minute call, not before it.
The Thousand Islands run eighty kilometres of the St. Lawrence, from Kingston east to Brockville. Almost every business along them sells a season, and the website is the part that can trade in the other one.
Work is done remotely, and after launch monthly care covers the updates, backups and monitoring if you want it.

I summer on this river, so this is not a region I picked off a map. If you trade anywhere between Kingston and Brockville, this is the page to start from, and there is a page for your own town below.
Map of the Thousand Islands with the towns along the river marked: Kingston, Gananoque, Brockville, Lansdowne, Rockport, and Mallorytown. Christopher Ross builds and supports websites for businesses here, working remotely.
What the towns along this river have in common
There are one thousand eight hundred and sixty four islands out there, and the whole stretch runs about eighty kilometres from the point where Lake Ontario narrows at Kingston down to Brockville at the eastern end. The densest part sits around Gananoque, which is why the boats have gone out from there since 1951.
What that shared geography does to a business is put most of its revenue inside a few months and most of its decisions inside a few earlier ones. A visitor books a July weekend in March. A season that opens in May was actually sold in the winter. Every town on this list has some version of that gap, and the website is the only part of the operation that is open on both sides of it.
Pages for the towns on the river
- Kingston web design. The western end, where the river starts. A market shaped by Queen's and by an academic year rather than a normal one.
- Gananoque web design. The main port and the densest part of the archipelago. A town that opens in May and sells all year.
- Brockville web design. The eastern end, where the railway tunnel reshaped a downtown. Visitor traffic and steady local trade at the same time.
Working with someone who is not down the road
I work from Fort Erie, and I would rather say so on the first screen than have you find it out later. The build is done remotely, which for a website is genuinely the better arrangement: you pay for the work instead of the driving, and the site goes up on a private staging link while it is being built, so you are reacting to real pages rather than approving a picture of one.
Common questions
How much does a website cost along the Thousand Islands?
Most local builds start at $2,500 CAD, quoted as a fixed price against a written scope, so the number does not move once you have agreed it. What changes the figure is how many pages you need and how much of the writing and photography you already have. You get a real number after a twenty-minute call.
My town is not on the list. Can you still help?
Yes. The pages exist for the towns where I have enough to say about the market to be useful, and Lansdowne, Ivy Lea, Rockport, Mallorytown and the rest of the shoreline are served from the nearest one. The build is the same wherever you are.
