Vimeo
Vimeo is a professional video hosting platform, founded in 2004 and positioned as the ad-free, business-friendly alternative to YouTube for companies, creatives, and course creators who need privacy, a branded player, and per-viewer analytics. Because it makes its money from subscriptions rather than ads, it's a privacy-respecting home for paid course content, client deliverables, and anything where competitor ads or distracting recommendations would do harm. Its standout features are password-protected and domain-restricted embeds, viewer-level analytics on its higher plans, full control over player branding, and no competitor ads on any plan. It's also widely praised for compression that keeps fine detail in screen recordings and motion graphics at smaller file sizes than YouTube's default encoding.
