Playlists are a little like bookmarks, allowing visitors to your Channel to view whole collections of subjects all in one place.

A  YouTube Playlist allows you to collect videos from both your own channel and others into a single collection. They’re a little like bookmarks, allowing visitors to your Channel to view whole collections of subjects all in one place.

You can use Playlists for a number of things, but focus each on a logical subject for viewers who would want to watch multiple videos from you all in a row.

For example, if you’re uploading instructional videos about your products, you would want to create several unique playlists from those videos if there’s more than one video for the product:

  • Each product should receive its own playlist if there are multiple videos about it.
  • If a product has different versions, each version (ie model number or variation) should have a playlist.
  • The for each product category (ie sailboats, dinghy’s, under 20 feet, recreational) can have a separate playlist.
  • The type of video you’re uploading (user-generated content, promotional, behind-the-scenes).

To add a video to a playlist, go to a video you’d like to add and click the Save to icon located below the video (it looks like three lines and a plus symbol). Then simply click Create a new playlist and type the name of your new playlist.
