According to the 2019 Digital Democracy Survey, the most popular social media platform among Liberal Party supporters in Canada is Facebook, with 44% of respondents saying they use the platform. Twitter and YouTube follow closely behind, with 36% and 30% respectively. Instagram, LinkedIn, and Reddit are also popular, with 19%, 9%, and 8% respectively.

The survey also looked at how often Liberal Party supporters used social media. On average, Liberal Party supporters spend just over 4 hours a week on Facebook, with Twitter and YouTube coming in second and third with just under 4 hours a week. Instagram and LinkedIn both saw just over 2 hours of engagement a week, while Reddit saw only 1 hour of engagement a week.

Interestingly, the survey found that Liberal Party supporters are more likely to engage with political content on social media. A majority (60%) of Liberal Party supporters said they had discussed politics on social media in the past month, compared to just 42% of Canadian adults overall.

These numbers demonstrate the power of social media for Liberal Party supporters in Canada. With so many people engaging with the platform, it’s no wonder that the Liberal Party has turned to social media to spread their message and engage with supporters.
